St. Lawrence County Sheriff Brooks Bigwarfe has extended the travel ban in St. Lawrence County until 8:00 p.m. tonight. A State of Emergency has been declared in St. Lawrence and Jefferson Counties.
City Police Chief Mark Kearns strongly urges all motorists to stay home. The visibility in the City is expected to get worse over the rest of today and into tonight as the storm continues.
All emergency personnel are working tirelessly to keep residents safe. DPW staff is working hard to keep the streets clear to allow for Police, Fire and Rescue to respond to emergencies as needed. Disabled vehicles and accidents only add to the response challenges.
