The City of Ogdensburg is currently accepting applications for the position of Recreation Director.
The starting salary is $46,759 - $51,093 with fringe benefits.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Parks Management or a closely related field; AND one (1) year of experience in the conduct of recreation activities or operating a recreation facility which shall have included one (1) year in a supervisory capacity; OR
B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s Degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Parks Management or a closely related field AND three (3) years of experience in the conduct of recreation activities or operating a recreation facility which shall have included one (1) year in a supervisory capacity; OR
C) Graduation from high school, possession of a high school equivalency diploma, or possession of an Individual Education Plan diploma AND five (5) years of experience in the conduct of recreation activities or operating a recreation facility which shall have included one (1) year in a supervisory capacity.

This is a provisional appointment. The successful applicant will need to take a civil service examination, to be given on October 21, 2023, and score within the top three interested candidates in order to be permanently appointed.
