[ARCHIVED] Swimming Prohibited from All City Owned Property

The City would like to remind the community that swimming from all city owned property is not allowed. This includes the Greenbelt area and boat launches. Please refer to Ogdensburg Municipal Charter, § 153-3. Swimming restricted; penalties for offenses.

A. Areas designated. No person shall swim off the Lake Street Bridge, the Spring Street Bridge,
the pier on the west side of the Oswegatchie Dam or off any or all property owned by or
under the control or supervision of the City of Ogdensburg.

B. Penalties. Any person violating the provisions of this section shall be fined or punished as
follows:
(1) First offense: by a fine not to exceed ten dollars ($10.) or imprisonment for a period not
to exceed two (2) days.
(2) Second offense: by a fine not to exceed twenty- five dollars ($25.) or by imprisonment
for a period not to exceed five (5) days.
(3) Third or subsequent offense within one (1) year: by a fine not to exceed one hundred
dollars ($100.) or by imprisonment not to exceed fifteen (15) days, or by both such fine or imprisonment.
