Due to the continued increase in cases of COVID-19 the state legislature has passed, and the Governor signed into law, authority for public meetings to be held remotely without in-person attendance. Effective immediately the City of Ogdensburg will cease all public attendance at meetings until the risk of spreading COVID-19 decreases to an acceptable level. “The risk of spreading the disease within the city far outweighs the benefits of public attendance given that the city has excellent two-way communication in place to conduct meetings”. Most all other communities provide “listen and view” capability for the public, however, in Ogdensburg, Mayor Jeffrey M. Skelly is committed to using all technology options to continue to provide open, transparent and responsive local government to its residents during these very difficult times.
In addition, City of Ogdensburg staff offices will be closed to the public on Monday, Wednesday and Friday – please call the applicable office if you have a pressing matter that cannot be handled over the phone or by email. Staff offices will be available on Tuesday and Thursday, by appointment only. Please call in advance to schedule an appointment. A list of phone numbers is listed below.
