City of Ogdensburg, New York Launches Waterfront Revitalization Website
A dedicated source of information and data on the City’s Local Waterfront Revitalization Program
Ogdensburg, NY – August 10, 2021 - The City of Ogdensburg, New York is pleased to announce the launch of its new OgdensburgWaterfront.com website. Designed to attract real estate developers, investors and end users, the website is a source of information and data on the City’s Local Waterfront Revitalization Program and current development opportunities within the city.
Located along the southern shore of the St. Lawrence River, directly across from the Canadian towns of Prescott and Brockville, Ontario, Ogdensburg has an abundance of waterfront properties offering unique development opportunities for water-dependent industries, natural resource-based recreation, tourism and much more.
Created with funds provided by the New York Department of State, the website showcases the Ogdensburg Downtown Waterfront Core Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA). The City has invested significant resources to prepare brownfields sites within the BOA for redevelopment and create a clear land use approval process for developers and investors.
“This website provides valuable information on the available development opportunities within the city,” said Andrea L. Smith, AICP, Director of Planning and Development for the City of Ogdensburg. “This is one example of the tools and resources Ogdensburg has created to help developers evaluate real estate opportunities and streamline the redevelopment process.”
At launch, OdgensburgWaterfront.com featured two development-ready properties, including the fully-remediated 24-acre Diamond Site located on the St. Lawrence River. The City is currently accepting proposals for the redevelopment of the Diamond Site.
