On Thursday, October 31, 2019, Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced the state is providing $60 million to advance 38 projects in St. Lawrence and Jefferson counties under the Lake Ontario Resiliency and Economic Development Initiative (REDI). Ogdensburg is poised to receive $8,316,973 for four waterfront projects, and the Fort la Présentation Association was awarded $1,295,000. The four City of Ogdensburg projects are:

• $4,875,000 for Morissette Park and City Dock Project, includes potentially elevating and adjusting its location, to ensure continuous public water access to this important local economic driver.
• $2,000,000 to address flooding damage to the section of the Maple City Trail and seawall at the confluence of the Oswegatchie and St. Lawrence rivers. The trail was heavily impacted by recent flooding events, damaging approximately 100 linear feet of seawall. The proposed project aims to increase shoreline stabilization and improve resiliency to floodwaters.
• $911,973 for Municipal Marina and City Docks adjacent to the Dobisky Center. The final project components will be determined during design and tailored to suit community needs.
• $530,000 Greenbelt Park proposed shoreline stabilization will protect the localized infrastructure from flooding and damage due to debris, ice, and waves experienced under flood and high-water conditions.

"New Yorkers living and working along the shorelines of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River have endured extensive damages from record flooding and the state is continuing to step up to help," Governor Cuomo said. "I am pleased to announce these 38 REDI projects for St. Lawrence and Jefferson counties, which will help these communities rebuild and recover after devastating losses while ensuring the area's infrastructure and habitats are better prepared and more resilient in the face of future high-water levels."
