Ogdensburg Elks Lodge Recognizes Emergency First Responders and Law Enforcement

The Ogdensburg Elks Lodge 772 held an appreciation dinner for the local Emergency First Responders on Saturday, March 16, 2019.  Among several departments recognized were the Ogdensburg Police and Fire Departments.  The evening included awards being given to each department, Police Officer of the Year and Fire Department Recognition.

Police Chief Andrew Kennedy congratulated Officer Daniel Hollister who was awarded Ogdensburg Police Department Officer of the Year and offered, “Many thanks to New York State Elks Association President, Stuart Rishe, Ogdensburg Elks Lodge 772, Exalted Ruler Rick Powell, and all of the Elks Lodge members who volunteered and organized this program. It was a wonderful event. We all appreciate the support from our local Elks Lodge and from the community for our Police, Fire and EMS”.   

The Lodge awarded the City Fire Department a Department Recognition. Chief Michael Farrell extolled his department adding, “The dedicated members of my department are very appreciative of the support from the Ogdensburg Elks Lodge and their hosting of the First Responder Recognition Night as well as awarding us a Departmental Recognition plaque.”

The Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad and the United States Customs and Border Patrol were also recognized for their services. 

“The Ogdensburg Elks sends our thanks and gratitude to all area first responders and law enforcement officers.  It was our honor and privilege to recognize you for your courage, dedication, and sacrifice in serving the citizens of our community and the surrounding areas.  We look forward to hosting this event again next year and for many years to come. May God watch over and bless you all.”  New York State Elks Association President Stuart Rishe.
