The Comptroller is responsible for the administration of all of the City's financial affairs. The Comptroller supervises the treasury, accounts, and purchase functions of the City. The position duties include, but are not limited to:
Bonds and note sales
Debt administration
Financial management of state and federal grants
Investments
The Comptroller's Office is responsible for the collection of city and county property taxes for those parcels located within the City. These taxes are collected in two installments during the year. We also collect unpaid school taxes after January 15 of the next year. This office also collects all water and sewer rates in the City.
