Requirements
- No information shall be released from a birth record unless the record has been on file for at least 75 years and the person named in the request is deceased.
- No information shall be released from a death record unless the record has been on file for at least 50 years and the person named in the request is deceased.
- No information shall be released from a marriage record unless the record has been on file for at least 50 years and the person named in the request is deceased.
The City of Ogdensburg charges a fee of $22 for each genealogical search requested.

Purchasing Records
Genealogical records can be obtained in person at the City Clerk's Office, through the mail, and online (see the Vital Records page). When requesting records through the mail, the completed application, copies of proper identification, and payment in the form of a money order must be mailed to the City Clerk's Office, 330 Ford Street, Ogdensburg, NY 13669.
